22 June - 15 July 2015 ANIME MARINE c/o Silvia Giusti Antiquariato 5vie
During the Milan fashion week, 5VIE proposes a mix of men's fashion and food & wine to make strong and interconnected the themes of Expo and Fashion.
On this occasion, Silvia Giusti, antique store specialized in porcelain, hosts in her historic shop in Via Vigna the exhibition "Anime Marine" of Marianna Manfrino.
The works, made with the technique of oil painting, tracing a subject that has always fascinated the art world: the sea. The artist, as well as investigate the marine landscape with its infinite nuances, is intended to evoke the creatures that inhabit it. Using the spatula in the application of color gives materiality to the subjects, who seem to take life by the paintings. The recovery wood washed ashore by the waves and used as frames, is another element of the merger between the work and the marine theme.

In her works illustrations and old pictures are interlaced through the collage technique to pieces of images found on contemporary magazines. Her psychotherapist background emerges in the artistic research: through the free association she tells new stories between art and psychology. She recovers the memories reconciling past and present, choosing images of architechture and interior design, she represents thoughts and worlds of figures left behind.
